Reporter Lai Xiangshan/Nantou reported in real-time on June 9, 2024, at 6:17 pm, to cleanse the notorious 'Pedestrian Hell,' Nantou County introduced its first technology enforcement equipment for no-yield to pedestrians in Puli in February and added three more technology enforcement locations to crack down on non-yielding pedestrians starting in July. After the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, from the 11th to the 13th, the county will launch a synchronized 'No Yield to Pedestrians Major Enforcement,' targeting 24 dangerous intersections as priority enforcement points. Nantou County Police Bureau emphasized the increase in pedestrian deaths due to traffic accidents in the first three months of this year compared to the same period last year and the need for enhanced enforcement and education on the issue.
