Stellantis Announces Layoffs as Ram 1500 Classic Production Ends

Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler, plans to lay off up to 2,450 workers at its Warren Truck assembly plant near Detroit as it ceases production of the Ram 1500 Classic truck. Effective October 8, the plant will shift from two shifts to a single shift in assembly while continuing Jeep Wagoneer production on a two-shift basis. Laid-off workers will receive unemployment benefits, transition assistance, and healthcare coverage for two years.
