Stellantis has extended a preemptive recall of vehicles with potentially faulty airbags to include more Citroen, DS, and Opel models, following the initial recall of certain Citroen and DS models. The recall affects 29,000 Opel vehicles with Takata airbags, part of a wider campaign involving 500,000 Citroen vehicles in Southern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East due to safety risks. Takata faced bankruptcy in 2017 after global recalls and linked deaths from airbags, prompting Stellantis to allocate 951 million euros for an extended recall campaign.
