On June 17, 2024, the Taiwan Stock Market closed with the Weighted Index down by 8.19 points at 22496.53, a 0.04% decrease, with a total turnover of 4426.97 billion NTD. The top sold stock by eight major public banks was panel stock company AU Optronics (2409), with a sell-off of 5406 shares, followed by electronic component company Wah Lee (2313) and semiconductor company Powerchip (6770) with sell-offs of 4266 and 3330 shares respectively. Despite this, eight out of the top ten selling stocks gained, leading netizens to comment, 'Why do the elders keep winning money by buying green and selling red?'.
