Stonepeak, a private equity firm, has agreed to purchase Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) for $3.1 billion, taking the company private. The deal, which values ATSG at $22.50 per share, represents a significant premium over recent trading prices. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2025 pending regulatory approval, but ATSG may consider other offers during a 35-day solicitation period. The move comes as demand for air cargo services rises amid a boom in e-commerce.
