On June 28, 2024, Minister of Economics Guo Zhihui commented on Taiwan's energy policy, noting that while every city in Taiwan is eager to develop artificial intelligence (AI), there is a lack of interest in establishing power plants, sparking attention. Additionally, Vice Chair of the Climate Change Commission Tong Zixian, who has been vocal about energy issues recently, received respect from the Presidential Office but was not authorized to discuss nuclear power.
