A 36-year-old man in Taipei surnamed Chen, with unstable mental condition, went to alleys in Ximending for two days, burning miscellaneous items in a furnace, causing panic among local residents. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving reports on the early morning of the 22nd, where Chen was found burning cardboard again. Due to his incoherent speech and communication difficulties, he was forcibly sent to the hospital. Although Chen's intentions were unclear, he did not commit arson; however, his actions led to fear among residents, prompting authorities to act and contact his family.
