On June 30, 2024, at 7:43 am, a complaint was filed about the presence of cockroaches and metal pieces in the salad at Journey Coffee's West Lake store, a well-known restaurant in Taipei. Photos shared online showed a live cockroach in a delivered salad, shocking the customer. Other netizens also shared experiences of finding metal pieces in their salads, raising food safety concerns. The Taipei City Health Bureau will conduct an inspection based on food hygiene standards, and the store has yet to respond to the allegations.
