The Education and Culture Committee of the Legislative Yuan continued reviewing the Student Counseling Law, passing an amendment to allow counseling services for minors without parental consent if the student agrees. The amendment prioritizes the best interests of children and youths and aims to address concerns where parents may resist counseling for their children. Professional counselors with a psychology license can now provide counseling to minors after the student's agreement and evaluation by the school, without the need for parental consent.
