Study Confirms Milk Pasteurization Kills Bird Flu Virus

Reported 9 months ago

A recent study conducted by U.S. officials confirmed that commercial pasteurization effectively eliminates the bird flu virus in cow's milk. Prior to this, there were concerns about the virus surviving pasteurization, but the study reassured officials. This study, which replicated commercial pasteurization procedures, found no live virus in store-bought pasteurized milk samples, proving the process effectively deactivates the virus. The study, conducted in Athens, Georgia, utilized specialized equipment to mimic industrial pasteurization and confirmed the virus is inactivated even before the crucial 'flash pasteurization' step at 161 degrees.
