Iberian lynx, native to the Iberian Peninsula in Europe, has made a successful recovery from the brink of extinction, with their population now exceeding 2000 individuals, leading to their removal from the endangered list by the IUCN. Thanks to conservation efforts focusing on protecting their habitat and food sources, such as European rabbits, the lynx population has thrived. The cooperation between public institutions, scientific research units, NGOs, private enterprises, and community members has played a crucial role in this conservation success. However, challenges remain, particularly concerning the status of European rabbits, climate change impacts, and potential threats from hunting activities. The hope is to maintain the current successful recovery and ensure the long-term survival of the Iberian lynx species.
