Summer Outbound Travelers Buying Popular Cosmetics, Taiwan FDA Issues Warning: Only for Personal Use, Violators Could Face Up to One Million Fine

During the peak of summer outbound travels, cosmetics are popular souvenirs, especially considering the relaxation of regulations on specific-purpose and general cosmetics in Taiwan starting from July 1st. Taiwan FDA emphasizes that cosmetics no longer have restrictions based on purpose, but items brought from abroad such as sunscreen and hair dyes must comply with customs regulations and are strictly for personal use. Violators could face fines up to one million NT. The Taiwan FDA also clarified regulations for medical devices allowing only eight specific items for simplified customs clearance.
