Reported about 1 year ago
The Ministry of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration launched a special inspection project on June 1 aimed at outdoor work heat hazards, shortening the improvement deadline to 7 days with a recheck in 2 weeks. Employers failing to make necessary adjustments may face fines ranging from 30,000 to 300,000 NT dollars under the OSHA. With reports of workers suffering heatstroke while working outdoors, particularly in construction and logistics sectors, the ministry is intensifying inspections and penalties, having already levied fines totaling 810,000 NT dollars last year. To prevent heat-related illnesses, employers are required to implement preventive measures, subject to penalties if improvements are not completed within the specified timeframe.
