As the weather heats up, more people are heading to swimming pools to cool off. In order to provide a safe and hygienic swimming environment, the Taipei City Government Health Bureau inspected 145 swimming pools from January to April this year, with 137 pools passing the water quality test, reaching a pass rate of 94.5%, which is higher than the same period in 2013 and 2011. Despite the improvement, 8 pools still failed the test due to exceeding bacteria levels, and were fined NT$2,000 each. The Health Bureau reminded swimmers to follow certain guidelines for a safe swimming experience, such as showering before entering the pool and not swimming if feeling unwell.
