In the first half of the year, Super Micro Computer (SMCI) surpassed Nvidia in performance, leading the S&P 500 index with a return of 188% compared to Nvidia's 150%. Super Micro Computer's growth was fueled by the demand for its AI servers, which largely contain Nvidia GPUs. Despite Nvidia posting higher revenue growth, Super Micro Computer's lower starting valuation and ability to exceed expectations played a significant role in its outperformance.
