Supermarket Employee Steals $90,000 While Manager is Ill for Less Than a Month

In Yilan Zhuangwei, a well-known supermarket manager reported to the police that an employee stole over $90,000 while he was sick and had to leave the store unattended. The employee, surnamed Zheng, who had been working for less than a month, was caught on surveillance cameras taking money and disappeared without a trace. Zheng even advanced himself nearly $47,000 in wages before vanishing. Previous records show that Zheng had committed a similar theft of $89,970 in another supermarket a few years ago, leading to a 6-month prison sentence. Despite the case being reported, Zheng has not responded to calls, and the police are working to recover the stolen money.
