A 71-year-old woman surnamed Liu was caught by staff at a supermarket in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City after stealing ribeye steaks worth 500 NT each five times within a month. The staff finally confronted her as she was about to steal again, leading to her arrest. Surveillance footage revealed her stealing habit, and the store estimated losses of 2495 NT. Liu, who claimed to be retired and financially stable with properties in central Taipei, confessed to her love for ribeye steaks as the reason behind her crime. She was arrested for theft and the case was sent to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for investigation.
