An initiative to impeach Keelung Mayor Hsieh Guo-liang led by the civic group 'Mountain Sea Citizens Dismantle Liang Action' has collected nearly 41,000 signatures in the second phase, surpassing the impeachment threshold and will be submitted for review. Former Central Broadcasting System Chairman Chao Shao-kang expressed complete disagreement with Hsieh's impeachment and announced that on the 7th, he will lead members of 'Fight Blue' to Keelung to show support through street speeches and market walks. The Nationalist Party has also mobilized to defend Hsieh against alleged malicious attacks by the Green Camp. Public opinion suggests the second phase of the impeachment will likely pass, leading to a potential impeachment vote in mid-September.
