Supreme Court to Review Approval for Rail Project in Utah

Reported 11 months ago

The Supreme Court has agreed to consider reinstating a crucial approval for the Uinta Basin Railway, an 88-mile railroad line in eastern Utah, that would transport crude oil and enhance fossil fuel production. This move follows an appeals court ruling that overturned the approval by the Surface Transportation Board. The rail project, a public-private partnership between DHIP Group and the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition, aims to boost economic growth, connect the region, and facilitate shipping of waxy crude oil, which is more challenging to transport than traditional crude.
