As of June 27, the Ministry of Health and Welfare reported 609 cases of heat-related injuries in Taiwan, exceeding last year's figures. An expert from the Tri-Service General Hospital Center for Prevention and Treatment of Heat Stroke disclosed a case where a middle-aged man collapsed while working under the sun, with his body temperature reaching 41.8 degrees Celsius, leading to acute kidney failure and rhabdomyolysis. Immediate cooling measures revived the man within half an hour. The key to saving sunstroke patients lies in quick cooling within the 'golden 3 hours,' whether by splashing water, immersing in a pool or stream, or covering with wet towels, significantly boosting survival rates.
