In a shocking incident in Mojokerto, Indonesia, a 28-year-old female officer suspected her 27-year-old husband, also a police officer, of gambling and causing their bank account to be short of 2 million Indonesian rupiahs (approximately NT$4,000). She then bound and burned him alive in a chair in the police dormitory garage. The husband, who suffered 90% burns, succumbed to his injuries on the same day the wife was arrested. The wife displayed signs of severe trauma after the gruesome act and is currently undergoing mental and psychological counseling. It was revealed that the husband had long-standing online gambling issues, which led to his wife harboring deep resentment over financial matters affecting their family.
