Sweden's Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA) signed with the United States at the end of last year has now been passed by the Swedish parliament, dismissing concerns of potential nuclear weapons deployment and the presence of US troops. The agreement allows US military access to 17 military bases and training areas in Sweden, as well as the storage of weapons and ammunition. The main opposition came from the Left Party and the Green Party, advocating that Sweden will not allow the deployment of nuclear weapons within its borders.
