Swiss dairy company Emmi Group has acquired the Lucerne-based coffee roaster Hochstrasser, its long-term roasting partner, with Hochstrasser to operate independently. The acquisition aims to enhance Emmi Caffè Latte brand with premium coffee expertise. Hochstrasser, founded in 1852 and reporting sales of SFr17m ($18.9m) in 2023, will maintain its management team. The deal is pending regulatory approval, and financial details remain undisclosed. Emmi Group, known for dairy and coffee products, achieved net sales of SFr4.242bn ($4.72bn) in 2023 and recently collaborated with Equator Coffee to release four ready-to-drink cold-brew coffees.
