Switzerland's Economic Affairs Minister Guy Parmelin emphasized the nation's contributions to the U.S. economy while seeking to avert tariffs imposed by President Trump. Following a recent visit to Washington, he noted that Switzerland is a significant investor in the U.S., employing around 400,000 people. Despite concerns about potential tariffs set to take effect on April 2, Parmelin expressed readiness for discussions to demonstrate Switzerland's economic benefits, including zero industrial tariffs on 99% of U.S. goods.
