As the local COVID-19 situation escalates, Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced the procurement of the latest type of COVID-19 vaccine, with plans to purchase 5.5 million doses. The vaccine is effective against prevalent variants such as JN.1, KP.2, and KP.3. Scheduled to start administering on October 1, the vaccine will be rolled out alongside the influenza vaccine in two phases, with priority given to high-risk groups including elderly individuals, indigenous populations, healthcare workers, pregnant women, children, and individuals with potential diseases. The CECC aims to ensure better protection for the public against the current pandemic.
