Synopsys, a U.S. chip design software company, is expected to receive conditional EU antitrust approval for its $35 billion acquisition of Ansys, with the deal marking a significant move in the tech sector. To alleviate EU competition concerns, Synopsys plans to divest its Optical Solutions Group and Ansys PowerArtist. The European Commission will complete its preliminary review by January 10, as Synopsys prepares to address similar concerns from the UK competition authority.
