Tai Wei Diversifies into Online Game Development

Reported 8 months ago

Tai Wei (3064) recently announced its transition from a game machine manufacturer to developing online games, gradually stepping away from its original video lottery terminal (VLT) gaming and system business. Tai Wei, previously focused on VLT gaming and systems with main clients being Italian amusement arcade operators, decided to cease VLT development in 2024 due to limited market prospects and shift its research and development entirely towards online gaming. By utilizing its video processing and cross-platform development technologies, Tai Wei has successfully developed and internationally certified various online video games, entering markets in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. The company also launched 'Call Me' convenience service software, which integrates big data analysis to enhance queuing efficiency in medical facilities and restaurants. Tai Wei aims to reduce costs and focus on high-growth potential areas through this strategic adjustment, adapting its sales model to partnerships and profit-sharing arrangements for custom design services or subcontracting game machine and online game manufacturing. With a year-over-year revenue growth of 44.67% totaling 47 million NTD in the first five months and a first-quarter net profit after tax of 13 million NTD with earnings per share of 1.01 NTD, surpassing the previous year's 0.04 NTD, Tai Wei is looking at a promising future direction.
