On July 4, 2024, a 2-year-old girl tragically died in a fire at an apartment building in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City. The grandmother managed to escape with her 5-year-old granddaughter, but the 2-year-old was found dead by firefighters. It was revealed that the grandmother had seen the sisters playing with a lighter, tried to stop them, but the fire still occurred. The father, who was working outside, rushed home upon hearing the news and broke down upon seeing his beloved daughter's death. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
