Taipei reports 9 cats dying from low blood potassium after consuming the same cat food; following the investigation, a feed brand in New Taipei City was found to have inaccurate ingredient labeling and was fined 60,000 NT dollars. The Agriculture Department plans to establish a pet food special law with added harmful substance criteria for better regulation. Owners are advised to report any adverse effects on pets eating the feed and seek immediate veterinary care if symptoms such as decreased appetite or muscle weakness occur.
