Taipei Bicycle Thief Steals High-End Bikes, Caught Selling Them Cheaply After Hundreds Stolen, Detained and Denied Visits

On June 12, 2024, Taipei Police busted a series of continuous theft cases where a bicycle thief targeted high-priced bicycles, sold them cheaply online for profit, and was caught with stolen property and drugs. The thief, identified as Zhou, committed at least 29 thefts and was apprehended after selling stolen high-end bicycles worth over NT$800,000 for prices ranging from NT$3,000 to NT$30,000. With over 20 stolen bicycles recovered, police continue to investigate and advise the public to register warranty information when purchasing bikes and to report any suspicious activities to maintain public safety.
