Taipei City Councilor Invites Huang Kuo-chang to Join Party, Councilor Chen Chih-han Mocks: If You Think the Mother Hen of the People's Party is Strong, 'Welcome to Join'

According to FTNN News, Taipei City Councilor Li Ming-xian of the Kuomintang revealed a conversation with People's Party legislator Huang Kuo-chang about whether to yield in the 2026 New Taipei City mayor election, causing internal backlash. While Kuomintang Taipei City Councilor Liu Tsai-wei opposes Huang joining the party, New Taipei City Councilor Lu Chia-kai urges the party's central committee to extend an invitation to Huang, challenging him to join. People's Party legislative caucus director Chen Chih-han responded that if the Kuomintang believes the People's Party's mother hen is strong, they are welcome to join. Huang responded that he appreciates the invitation but emphasized the importance of fulfilling promises made to voters, criticizing the Democratic Progressive Party for making empty promises, while the People's Party focuses on implementing practical policies. Huang also criticized accusations against him and focused on his campaign for New Taipei City mayor.
