On June 27, 2024, Taipei City Councilor Lin Yanfeng revealed that after she exposed suspicions of favoritism and project delays in the 'Nangang Transit Station BOT case' in May, the next day, New Life Insurance immediately requested an extension of the project period. The Department of Transportation not only did not disclose this to the public but also secretly held a coordinating meeting with New Life on the 26th, allowing if proven illegal, the meeting between the Jiang city government and New Life on the previous day would amount to condoning a crime. Lin Yanfeng pointed out that if the project progress is delayed again in June, the city government must impose penalties or terminate the contract, but discussing contract amendments now would be equivalent to giving in to pressure.
