In a report by the Public Daily on June 28, 2024, Taipei City's iBike 1.0 system has been out of service for a full year, with 6115 1.0 bicycles still temporarily stored at the storage warehouse of Smiling Bike Company and the Wuci Fire Brigade. City councilor Zhou Yonghong criticized the lack of an exit mechanism proposed by the Transportation Department, questioning why usable bicycles are being left to deteriorate instead of being put to good use. The Transportation Department cited safety and logistical concerns and stated that discussions with relevant parties on potential reutilization are ongoing.
