Amidst recent hot weather, the Taipei City Department of Transportation announced a press release on June 13th that from July 1st to the end of August, during off-peak hours from 9 am to 4:30 pm, the red light duration at 740 intersections citywide will be shortened to reduce sun exposure for motorcyclists and pedestrians, with an average reduction of about 21 seconds. This adjustment aims to protect the health of pedestrians and motorcyclists while ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow.
