Taipei City Flooded as Heavy Rain Special Report '8 Regional Thunderstorm Alert' Issued in 13 Counties and Cities

The Central Weather Bureau issued a special report on heavy rain and immediate thunderstorm information due to vigorous convective cloud development, warning of short-duration heavy rainfall in parts of Greater Taipei, Nantou, and western mountainous areas. By 4:25 pm on June 16, Taipei City was upgraded to a heavy rain special report, cautioning against lightning and strong gusts, with precautions for landslides and falling rocks in mountainous areas. Additionally, 13 counties and cities are under a heavy rain special report, with a specific alert for 6 areas in New Taipei for imminent thunderstorms. Flood warnings have been issued for Xinyi, Wenshan, and Da'an districts in Taipei City, with certain areas already experiencing localized flooding and classified under different warning levels based on rainfall intensity.
