Taipei City Government Accused of Unjust Land Acquisition for Greening Wastewater Plant, Riverside Residents Upset: 'City Hall is Like Robbers Demolishing Our Homes'

Reported 8 months ago

Twenty households in Taipei's Dadaocheng neighborhood have officially filed an administrative lawsuit against the Taipei City Government for the unjust land acquisition in order to construct the Riverside Water Resources Recycling Center, which led to protests from affected residents who fear being left homeless. They are angered by the low compensation prices imposed by the city government for their homes, which are to be demolished for the project. The residents have formed a self-help association to resist the forced evictions and have initiated legal actions against the city government.
