Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je More Like Hitler! DPP Mocks with 'Scary, Ruthless, Disgusting' Examples

Reported 11 months ago

Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen filed for interpretation and temporary ruling with the Constitutional Court, prompting Taiwan People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je to compare a country's downfall to having a crazy leader like Hitler. In response, the Presidential Office criticized Ko Wen-je for equating the president under the democratic constitutional system to Nazi Hitler, calling it the biggest insult to Taiwan's democracy and freedom. DPP spokesman Wu Zheng jumped in to mock Ko Wen-je for past remarks, stating that he is actually the most terrifying with authoritarian tendencies. Wu Zheng highlighted the importance of respecting Taiwan's laws and democratic constitutional system amid current constitutional disputes. He criticized the blue-and-white alliance in the legislature for attacking the Constitutional Court through populist and personal attacks, likening their actions to those of Hitler's path to expanding power through controlling the parliament's majority. Wu Zheng further questioned Ko Wen-je's understanding of history and criticized his authoritarian rhetoric, comparing it to Hitler's approach. He pointed out Ko Wen-je's controversial remarks in the past and highlighted the need for self-reflection. Wu Zheng concluded by stating that Ko Wen-je, rather than others, should reflect on his party's actions in the legislature, cautioning against disrespecting Taiwan's constitutional system.
