The swimming pool at Da Hu Park in Taipei City was found polluted and suspected to have been intentionally tainted with oil, leading to its emergency closure for the fourth day. The Sports Bureau initially attributed the contamination to sunscreen lotion used by the crowd during summer, claiming the oil stains have been cleaned up. Despite this, the pool remains closed, with a threat of a fine of 20,000 NT dollars if the operator does not reopen. The incident has caused inconvenience to many visitors, with concerns over public health and impact on those who have purchased monthly passes.
