Taipei City's First Funeral Parlor, which has been in operation for 60 years since its completion in 1964, will be demolished starting tomorrow, marking the end of an era. Mayor Chiang Wan-an witnessed the removal of the plaque of the establishment during a ceremony and shared plans for using the site temporarily as a parking lot and green space, while actively collecting suggestions for long-term development evaluations. The demolition project is expected to take 5 months, and various proposals for the site's future use, such as eldercare facilities, mixed public-private commercial and residential buildings, and recreational centers, are being considered to benefit Taipei City's long-term development.
