In the midst of intense confrontation between the ruling and opposition parties in the Legislative Yuan, Nationalist Party caucus leader and Hualien County legislator Fu Kun-chi has become a target for attacks from the Green camp, leading to Taipei DPP Councilor Li Jian-chang making outrageous remarks advising against consuming in Hualien due to majority support for Fu Kun-chi and his wife in elections, accusing them of buying votes. After receiving criticism, Li later apologized for his comments, expressing regret for harming the recovering tourism economy in Hualien and calling for everyone's support for the future of the region.
