Taipei Electric Apologizes for Sudden Power Outage in Taichung affecting Over 2,000 Residents, Blaming Dead Mouse for the Incident

Reported about 1 year ago

In Taichung City's Nantun District, a sudden power outage occurred in the early hours of July 4, affecting over 2,000 households due to a dead mouse biting through a high-voltage wire on a utility pole. The hot weather had many residents waking up in discomfort without air conditioning or fans. After receiving a police report about a fallen power line at 2:19 a.m., Taipei Electric dispatched personnel for inspection and emergency repair, with power being fully restored by 3:35 a.m. Despite the mouse being the cause of the outage, Taipei Electric apologized for the inconvenience caused to the residents.
