Taipei Environmental Protection Bureau Sets up Surveillance Cameras to Chase People Littering in Mountainous Area of 136 Line

On June 16, 2024, in the morning at 7:39 am, the Taiwan Public Television News website reported on the issue of littering along the road to the mountainous area of the 136 Line in Taichung. Discarded bottles and cigarette butts were found strewn on the road, tarnishing the beautiful scenery. To tackle this problem, the Taichung City Environmental Protection Bureau has set up surveillance cameras in two locations to catch litterbugs, using vehicles to chase and fine offenders. The bureau aims to install more cameras in crowded areas and implement AI technology to prevent littering by road users.
