The 26th Taipei Film Festival held its International New Director Competition awards ceremony, where the Best Picture award and a prize of 600,000 were presented to American director of Tunisian descent Maria Jobe for 'No Smoke Under the Eaves.' The Special Jury Award went to 'The Sun in My Heart,' also winning the Taipei Film Festival Director's Association Award and Audience Award, with director Ouyama Daishi expressing gratitude. The winning films will have additional screenings during the festival. The event featured actor Liang Zhengqun as the host, with festival chairman Yizhi Yan emphasizing the importance of the competition as a platform for global exchange and exploration of the future of cinema.
