At the 26th Taipei Film Festival, the International New Directors Competition awarded the best film and 600,000 NT dollars to 'There's No Gunpowder Under the Eaves' directed by Tunisian-American director Maria Joub. The special jury prize went to 'The Sun Inside Me,' which also won the Taiwan Directors Association Recommended Award and Audience Choice Award. Director Ko Chen-Tung, who attended as a judge, expressed his emotions, while the festival chairman emphasized the importance of the competition and its exploration of film's future. 'The Sun Inside Me' was praised for its simple yet detailed storytelling, exquisite cinematography, and intricate portrayal of emotions, winning the hearts of both the jury and the audiences, with its director expressing gratitude and hope for further success.
