On June 25, 2024, the Inspection Bureau of the Financial Supervisory Commission was raided by prosecutors over the embezzlement scandal involving Taichung Commercial Bank (2812), revealing suspicions of insider leaks providing confidential information to the bank. This marks the second leak incident within the Inspection Bureau in its 20-year history, with a senior auditor suspected of photographing inspection reports with a mobile phone and passing them to the bank's secretary. The bank's former chairman Wang Gui-feng misappropriated public funds of 1 billion New Taiwan Dollars for personal use. The prosecutor's investigation led to the disclosure of this secondary case during a search, resulting in charges against the auditor for breach of duties.
