According to SET News, Wanhua Police Department received reports of someone chasing and attacking with a knife on Xichang Street, Taipei. The troublemaker was identified as local gangster Chen Mingjie, who had a history of involvement in organized crime and was previously affiliated with the Hua Xi Street gang. Chen later joined the Bamboo Union and used funds from the gang to establish over 50 rooms in a high-rise building as a call girl service. Following conflicts in March and another recent incident in June involving a relationship dispute, where 3 people were injured, Wanhua Police are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further public safety threats and are summoning individuals for questioning under the Social Order Maintenance Act.
