Taipei General Hospital Responds to the Surge of 817 Severe COVID-19 Cases by Setting Up Negative Pressure Isolation for Confirmed Patients

Reported 8 months ago

Last week, there was a significant increase of 817 severe local cases of COVID-19 and complications in Taiwan. Taipei General Hospital's emergency department saw nearly a hundred waiting for beds this morning due to the surge in COVID-19 patients, leading to full hospital beds and crowded observation areas. As the number of COVID-19 patients continues to rise, the hospital has strengthened infection control measures by centralizing the management of single rooms and negative pressure rooms to effectively isolate confirmed patients. The pressure on infection control doctors has increased since May 2021, making it more challenging to prevent cross-infections and affecting the willingness of medical professionals to work in relevant specialties.
