Reported about 1 year ago
Taipei's public bikes, iBike 1.0, have been officially phased out for a year, and over 6,000 of them are currently left in open spaces like a bike company warehouse and the Wuci Fire Department compound, exposed to the elements. This has led to discussions among nearby residents questioning why these perfectly good bicycles are being scrapped, expressing concerns about the wastage. The city's Transportation Bureau has stated that they are exploring the feasibility of reusing these bikes and have yet to announce a plan for their proper disposal, as citizens continue to express dismay over the situation.
