As a result of southwest winds causing a heatwave, Taitung County experienced a phenomenon known as 'burning wind,' with temperatures reaching as high as 40.1 degrees Celsius by early afternoon. Accordingly, the Central Weather Bureau issued a special high-temperature advisory for 11 counties and cities, cautioning residents to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat injuries. Taitung, Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, and Hualien are all under high-temperature warnings, with temperatures expected to soar up to 36 degrees.
