Taipei Launches 'Youth Job Incentive Fund,' Maximum Reward Up to 38,000 New Taiwan Dollars

On July 6, 2024, TVBS news reported Taichung City Government introducing a new 'Youth Employment Security Insurance' for unemployed youth aged 15 to 25. The city government expanded the initiative to include the 'Youth Job Incentive Fund' and the 'Youth Employment Security Insurance' to support the youth in finding employment. Under this program, Taichung residents below 29 can receive a maximum incentive of 38,000 NTD for employment referrals by the city's job service centers. Unemployed youth aged 15 to 25 can apply for a one-year coverage of 300,000 NTD for accident insurance and 10,000 NTD for medical insurance, fully funded by the city government. Participants like 'Xiao Yang' found employment after registering at a job center, thanking the government for boosting his confidence and easing financial pressures. Another applicant, 'Xiao Ru,' secured a position through the job service center and aims to qualify for the Youth Job Incentive Fund in the future. Furthermore, the 'Youth Employment Security Insurance,' launched on May 15, offers the same insurance coverages to Taichung residents aged 15 to 25 who seek job referrals at the city's 27 service points, with premiums fully covered by the government. The Labor Bureau also collaborates with Feng Chia University and local enterprises to provide career opportunities in sustainable green energy and semiconductor industries through the 'Future Industry Talent Empowerment Camp,' creating new paths for youth employment. With 27 job service centers in Taichung offering customized services like resume assessments and workplace experiences, the city encourages young individuals to utilize these resources and seek assistance in employment matters.
